By linking scattered information about shows, performers and enterprises, VaCiKa makes it possible to follow entertainers across time and space - and to ask questions that individual documents cannot answer on their own.

The Research
Entertainment and show business is not inferior in any regard to other forms of theatre. Its performers and their shows are a significant part of our social and cultural history. Still, they are very often overlooked and misunderstood.
Our goal is not just preservation. We seek to make patterns, connections and forgotten careers visible - and to provide a foundation both for enthusiasts and professionals researching the field.

Entertainment memorabilia, just like other documents, deserve to be looked after. Still, life-long carefully curated scrapbooks, programme collections and photos often land in the rubbish: heirs and institutions do not value them. We do.
